So, my TL will be paid off before summer starts and the need to drive a manual is keeping me up at night. I do not want to be burdened with another car payment so I have been playing with the idea of trading my TL with someone.
Has anybody ever traded cars with someone else like this? Educate me please good friends.

Like, swapping actual ownership?
I’m not sure of ALL the legalties that would involve, but you’d need to find a vehicle that is worth relatively the same amount, otherwise you or the other individual will have to pay a gift tax.

I really want a prelude or an accord manual. But money always wins in the deal, usually in trades you still have to spend when the seller determines wants a few dollars more due to condition/maintenance and that’s another headache to deal with it. Have you considered swapping for an ep3?

Assuming you’re actually transferring ownership between each other, which you absolutely should. I have done this once, it works the same way as a normal sale of a vehicle, the only difference is the wording of the bill of sale.
A normal bill of sale reads like this:
I XXXXXX have sold XXXXX, VIN XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, to XXXXXXXX for the sum of $XXXXX on XX/XX/XXXX .....
When you’re trading vehicles straight up it goes something like this:
I XXXXXX have traded XXXXX, VIN XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, to XXXXXXXX in exchange for XXXXX, VIN XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, on XX/XX/XXXX. We both consider these vehicles to be of equal value .....

I have been toying with the same idea. I want to post my mazda 6 on Craigslist and see what I could get. Hopefully something rwd and manual, preferably with 6+ cylinders.

Some states will require you to place dollar amounts on each vehicle for the transfer of title. Use $1 in that case. There are tax implications tied to the values.
One cheap-ish way to get it done (in a state that gives back sales tax on trade-in) is to use a dealer as an intermediary, hold both cars at the same value and then just pay the ~$75-150 fee to the dealer for doing the paperwork. My hourly rate and personal frustration avoidance are enough to avoid the DMV with stuff like this.
And yes, I have been a party to title swaps in the past. Unfortunately they are very state specific.

If you HAVE to attach a stated dollar amount to it, I’d go with $500 or $1,000 instead of $1. You’ll pay a little bit more in sales tax ($30-$60 at a 6% sales tax rate) but at least those are believable amounts for a running car.
The last thing you want is the DMV or state tax people making it a nightmare because you were trying to be too cheap. And as we all know, tax people specialize in making life painful for people they think are cheating.
